Lickity Split Singers are comprised of singers who are Navajo, Jicarilla Apache, Southern Cheyenne
and who want
to continue singing some of the older songs that originated
in Oklahoma and other areas of the Southern Plains. In
addition, we also sing some more contemporary southern pow
wow songs.
Lickity Split is an intertribal drum group with singers
who are Navajo, Southern Cheyenne, Choctaw, Absentee
Shawnee, and others. Most of whom currently reside in the
Four Corners area.
Our name came because of our attitude to get things done
"Lickity Split." As many times as a powwow, singing groups
can casually choose a song, and after a while, we joked
about being "Lickity Split" in choosing our songs without
taking up a lot of time. Hence, the next powwow we decided
that to be our name.

continue in the ways of tradition singing, Gourd Dance, War
Mother, Veteran, two-step, and inter-tribal songs, as well
as appropriate songs for Southern Style dance categories.
